This is a very nice and convincing debut of a star son Alok in Kannada. He has that height, looks, color and urges to act. This is evident from the debut of Alok son of veteran actor cum director Kashinath. At places – dance and action especially Alok is ‘Kashi Halva’!

Alok’s father Kashinath made debut three decades ago in ‘Aparichitha’. In 2009 Alok is up to date and he has to become a little fat.

What is this ‘Baaji’ all about? The film opens up with the cricketing betting not the match fixing. The youngster Baaji is famous for bets but not dealing in nefarious activities. He can cross the busiest traffic to get the red rose for his friend. This is father’s gamble indeed. Kittappa a cycle shop puncture grows in betting and he loses to the extent of Rs.4 crores. His shisya is Abdul Khan who is now Mumbai don. To take revenge for the insult Abdul Khan comes before his master Kittappa. In the betting he wins the daughter of Kittappa Priya (Raani). Raani as usual does not like this and she runs away. Accidentally she is kidnapped by Baaji and brought to his house. Good shelter is assured for Priya but Baaji father (Ananthnag) mistakes it for love.

So what you would say? You should go and watch in the theatre friends! ‘Baaji’ is not an ordinary rut! Srinivas Shidlaghatta is impressive in many places.

There are two lovely songs. Alok has danced well and fought well in the film. Raani is beautiful to watch. Rangayana Raghu dialogue delivery is a treat to watch while Kishore steals the show.
